Wales Dylan Thomas

Are you interested in Wales, Dylan Thomas, perhaps our picturesque castles, if so then Cambrian routes can offer you a literary tour of Wales that is fun as well as informative. As you will know Dylan Thomas is without a shadow of a doubt one of the greates literary figures ever to have been born, and that is a fact that we here in wales are very proud of.

We have a literary tour set out for you to experience Wales and Dylan Thomas at first hand, the trips itinerary begins with a trip to the birthplace of the late, great Dylan Thomas which is number five Cwmdonkin Drive, then we will take a leisurely walk down through the uplands and the now famous uplands pub and we will enter the park, which is where Dylan as a young child used to play, he may even have sat there in his later days to gather inspiration. Then we shall have a bite to eat and reflect on the days events before having a visit to the Dylan Thomas centre which is located very near to the marina in Swansea.

Then we are on to the second day of the tour and that begins with a little jaunt to a place called Laugharne, on arrival here you are able to attend the actual place where Dylan used to live with his family which was just a very modest boathouse. Then we will let you into the actual place where he used to sit and do all his writing in the shed that looks over the taff estuary, who knows, perhaps it will inspire your own literary talents that are lurking inside you. This isthe place that filled him with such delictation that he wrote the famous `Under Milk Wood`. We will then take you to the final resting place in Wales of Dylan Thomas, where you can sit and pay respect, before we head off for a little refreshment at the Browns Hotel which is famous throughout the world. Finally we will finish with a trip to Newquay to take a walk down the Dylan Thomas Trail, this is where Dylan used to walk and think up the people that appear in Under milk wood.
